Murat Bag is an accomplished energy executive with nearly three decades of experience leading major power generation, heavy industry, and infrastructure projects across Türkiye, the Middle East, and Central Asia. He has built a strong record of steering nationwide-scale energy and industrial initiatives with a focus on strategic growth, operational excellence, and sustainable investment.
Over his career, Murat has successfully delivered complex thermal, biomass, and waste heat recovery power plants, managing every stage from feasibility and contract negotiation to commissioning and operations. His leadership roles at Çelikler Holding, Eren Enerji, and Dal Teknik Makina highlight his expertise in investment management, contract optimization, and risk mitigation—consistently achieving cost savings, efficiency gains, and early project completions.
An Middle East Technical University (Ankara/Turkiye)-trained Mechanical Engineer, Murat is fluent in Turkish, English, and French. Known for bridging technical expertise with executive strategy, he has led multidisciplinary teams, managed multi-million-dollar budgets, and built partnerships that advanced organizations’ investment portfolios. His career reflects a deep commitment to innovation, problem-solving, and shaping the future of energy and heavy industry through visionary yet pragmatic leadership.
Burak Cekmez, is a senior energy executive with 30 years of hands on experience in the energy sector mainly at the power plant investments and operations.
He served as a Consultant at Fichtner Gmbh Co between 2019 – 2025, managed the investment projects in Bangladesh mainly for 2X660 MW Maitree Supercritical TPP project.
Between 2018 and 2019, he wokeyrked as Project Director at Celikler Holding which is one of the biggest energy holding in Turkey for the investments and management of coal fired TPP projects across Turkey.
Between 2016 and 2018, he served as the Project Manager and Plant Manager at Odas Energy which is Turkey based energy group, and managed a 340 MW coal fired TPP reloacation project in partnership with international companies like GE, ABB as vendor and Skoda Praha Co as consultant company.
Between 2015 and 2016, he managed the Acwa Power investment in Turkey as Project Manager role for 930 MW KIPP Kirikkale independent CCGT project.
Between 2008 and 2015, he worked at Icdas Energy as Project Director and Plant Manager roles for the investment of 2 X 135 CFB coal fired power plants and 2 X 600 MW supercritical coal fired power plant investments and after managed power plant operations.
Between 2006 and 2008, he worked at Ciner Holding as Project Manager for the investment of 1,000,000 tons soda ash and Cogen power plants at the Eti Soda Co Soda Ash Projects in Ankara.
Between 2004 and 2006, he worked at Gama Power as Site Manager at 60 MW Erdemir Cogen Plant and 300 MW Samra/Jordan CCGT Projects.
Between 2000 and 2004, worked as Consultant at Eltemtek Co for the 2 X 160 MW CFB TPP project in Turkey.
He started his career in Gazi University as Teaching Assistant in 1996 and he received M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, where he worked in the development of CFB(circulating fluidized bed boilers) technology in Turkey and as well as involved in EIA studies and emission monitoring studies at various industrial plants and power plants in Turkey.
